Family Dentistry
East Keilor Dental has proudly served families in the community since 1976. We make it simple and convenient for families to receive the dental care they need to enjoy a healthy smile.
Preventive Dentistry: Your Foundation for a Healthy Smile
As your general dentists in East Keilor, we focus on prevention to protect your smile and dental health. When you visit our dental clinic regularly throughout the year for preventive teeth cleans and exams, we can identify problems earlier before they become more significant and more costly.
Whether we’re working with children, adults, or seniors, our approach to preventive dental care is the same:
- Establish a schedule for routine teeth cleans and exams that are best for your unique dental needs
- Offer information and education about dental health for more effective home care routines, which results in empowered decisions about dental needs and treatments.
Preventive dental services we offer at East Keilor Dental:
- Professional teeth cleans and exams
- Digital x-rays for diagnostics
- Children’s dentistry
- Fluoride treatments and dental sealants
- Treatment for periodontal (gum) disease
- Protective nightguards and mouthguards

Some of the restorative dental services you’ll find at East Keilor Dental are:

Additional Services for Your Dental Health and Overall Well-Being
Getting a good night’s rest is essential for your health and well-being. Sleep disorders, such as sleep apnoea, can keep you from getting the rejuvenating sleep you need.
Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) occurs when your airway is blocked during sleep, which causes you to stop breathing. The lack of oxygen sends a signal to your brain to wake you up, which can happen multiple times throughout the night in mild to moderate cases and hundreds of times in severe cases.
Your East Keilor dentist can help with mild to moderate sleep apnea by creating a customised oral appliance that helps to reposition your jaw while you sleep, which opens your airway for clear breathing.
Some of the signs you or your bed partner might be struggling with OSA are:
- Loud snoring throughout the night that wakes your bed partner
- Frequent headaches or migraines – especially in the morning
- Chronic fatigue or exhaustion
- Waking during the night coughing or gasping for air
- Waking with a dry mouth or sore throat
We invite you to contact our dental surgery for more information about how we can help with sleep apnoea or to arrange your next dental appointment.
Meet Our Clinicians:
Dr Jonathan Goldberg
Although he graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2005, Jonathan has been involved in dentistry his entire life (his father and aunt being dentists). He also worked as a dental assistant for five years (at this practice) while he was studying to become a dentist.
Jonathan believes that continuing education is vital to providing the highest quality of dentistry for his patients and, as such, not only attends a multitude of national and international conferences and works as a clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne dental school. His particular interests are preventative ...

He also served with the Australian Army Reserves for 18 years before joining the inactive reserves in 2008. Since 2003, Dominic has been and continues to be a clinical demonstrator and examiner at the University of Melbourne Dental School.
The best part about being a dentist for Dominic is being able to help his patients resolve their ...
Dr Margaret Preston
Dr Preston completed her dental degree at Melbourne University in 1968, being awarded an Honours Degree and the first female to be the dux of the course. She has been a dentist for 55 years and has been with East Keilor Dental for 38 of those years.
Dr Preston was always interested in the medical sciences, but dentistry seemed more family-friendly. She loves making a difference in her patients' lives in many ways and influencing them to maintain their oral health for a lifetime.
Continuing education has always been a strong focus of her professional life, and she ...
Family Dentistry Technology
Digital Records
Digital records make recording and securely storing patient information simple. Our secure network allows us to protect your information but makes it convenient for sharing with other providers when it's necessary. Our team can also easily access your records for your visits, which helps us monitor your dental health and provide the best care.
Digital records also don't require materials like folders, papers, and ink, which is friendlier for our environment.
Televisions in Treatment Rooms
The benefits of having television screens in our treatment rooms are twofold.
One, it allows our dentists to access your digital records, such as x-rays and photos, to share with you so you can understand your dental needs and make the right treatment decisions for your smile.
Two, it allows us to provide entertainment and distraction for patients during treatment procedures since they can enjoy their favourite shows or movies.
