At East Keilor Dental, we're committed to bringing you the latest advances in dentistry, and technology helps us do that. Our dentists attend continuing education courses yearly to hone their skills and bring patients the newest and most up-to-date techniques.
We've also equipped our East Keilor dental clinic with much of the latest dental technology we use to streamline procedures. Read on to learn more about how dental technology improves your experience at the dentist.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors
Digital x-rays make monitoring your dental health quicker and more efficient for our dentists and safer for you, the patient and the environment.
How is it safer for you? Digital x-rays actually emit about 80 per cent less radiation than traditional film x-rays. How is it safer for our environment? We no longer need harsh chemicals to develop the images.
Digital x-rays also provide our dentists with better images for more exact diagnosing, and the x-rays are immediately available to view on the television screens in our treatment rooms, so you can see exactly what our dentists are seeing.

Rotary Endodontics
Rotary endodontic tools allow us to make root canal treatment more comfortable and efficient than ever before. The hand tools are made of nickel-titanium, which is more comfortable when we're accessing the inner canals of your tooth since it is a flexible material.
The tools are also electric, which helps us be more efficient, and means less time in the dental chair for our patients.

Intraoral Camera
The intraoral camera is a small, pen-shaped tool that allows us to take full-colour pictures of your teeth and display them on the television screen in our treatment rooms so you and your dentist can discuss your treatment needs. Imagine how much easier it is to understand why your dentist has concerns when you can see what they see.
The intraoral camera and the images it delivers make it easier for you to feel confident about the decisions you're making for your dental health.

Digital Records
Digital records make recording and securely storing patient information simple. Our secure network allows us to protect your information but makes it convenient for sharing with other providers when it's necessary. Our team can also easily access your records for your visits, which helps us monitor your dental health and provide the best care.
Digital records also don't require materials like folders, papers, and ink, which is friendlier for our environment.

Televisions in Treatment Rooms
The benefits of having television screens in our treatment rooms are twofold.
One, it allows our dentists to access your digital records, such as x-rays and photos, to share with you so you can understand your dental needs and make the right treatment decisions for your smile.
Two, it allows us to provide entertainment and distraction for patients during treatment procedures since they can enjoy their favourite shows or movies.
